Visiting the office by car
We have two designated parking spaces for patients directly in front of the office entrance. If you park in these marked spaces, please ask the receptionist for a card to place on your dashboard. This card must be returned to the reception before you leave.
Teamwork of doctors, nurses and receptionists
In order to take care of you as best as possible, we work with a small stable team of doctors, nurses, and receptionists. We strive to maintain continuity of care, as we understand the unique relationship between a patient and their general practitioner within the healthcare system. After your initial examination with a doctor, we try to ensure that subsequent health consultations are with the same doctor. Exceptions are made for acute cases when another doctor may need to see you due to operational reasons.
Visiting the Office and Appointment System
To ensure the smooth operation of the office, it is necessary to make an appointment before each visit. This helps us save your time and prevent the mixing of infectious and non-infectious patients in the office. To make an appointment, you can call 228 222 315, email barrandov@ggmedical.cz, or use our website www.ggmedical.cz (section For Patients - Make an Appointment). Based on the nature of your visit and available times, the receptionist will arrange the most suitable appointment. Do not worry, if you have acute problems, we will see you the same day – every day, doctors reserve time slots for acute patients.
Thank you for respecting the necessity of making appointments and for cooperating with us in caring for your health.
Blood, urine, and other biological samples
Samples are taken daily in the office until 12:30 according to the instructions of the medical staff. Detailed preparation instructions for biological sample collection can be found on our website in the section For Patients - Guides. Once we receive your test results, we will contact you regarding the next steps either by SMS or by phone.
Requesting chronic medication prescriptions
For prescriptions of long-term medication, please preferably request via email or our web form. If you cannot use any of the above options, you can also call us. The issuance of a prescription is always decided by the doctor. If the doctor approves the prescription, you will receive it via SMS within one working day.
Sick Leave
Sick leave can only be issued based on the doctor’s decision. In exceptional cases and after prior arrangement with the doctor, sick leave can be issued retroactively for up to 3 days. When issuing sick leave, it is necessary to provide the name and address of your employer, as well as the address where you will be staying during your sick leave. You will agree with the doctor on the date of the next check-up – either in person or remotely (by phone) based on individual assessment. If you do not attend the planned check-up or contact us on the day of the remote check-up, your sick leave may be terminated based on the doctor’s decision.
Equipment
We continuously strive to improve our services and increase patient comfort. With modern equipment, we can quickly and accurately diagnose conditions and choose the most appropriate treatment or further examination procedures. The technical equipment helps us exclude some serious conditions without the need for an emergency room visit (acute myocardial infarction, pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, etc.).
List of diagnostic equipment:
- Blood pressure monitor – non-invasive blood pressure measurement
- ECG machine – non-invasive examination to diagnose certain heart conditions
- BP holter monitor – non-invasive blood pressure monitoring outside the office for up to 24 hours
- Pulse oximeter – oxygen saturation measurement
- Glucometer – from a drop of blood from the finger, we determine the current blood sugar level
- CRP – from a drop of blood from the finger, we determine an inflammatory marker that can help distinguish between viral and bacterial infection and the need to start antibiotic therapy
- Strep test – throat swab to detect streptococcus presence
- FOBT – fecal occult blood test as part of colorectal cancer screening
- Uricult – urine culture test if the sample cannot be sent to the laboratory
- Troponin, D-dimer, NT-proBNP – from venous blood in indicated cases within 15 minutes to exclude acute myocardial infarction, pulmonary embolism, or heart failure
Employment Medical Examinations – Initial, Periodic, Exit, Special
An appointment is required for the examination, and you need to bring a properly filled out request form from your employer – this must include the employer’s identification details, stamp, and signature of an authorized person, job position information – job title, type of work, work shifts, job category. A general practitioner can only perform occupational medical examinations for job category 1. Higher categories must be examined by an occupational health doctor.
Price list and payment for services
A list of services not covered by health insurance and their prices can be found in our price list – available at the reception or on our website in the section For Patients – Pricing. You can pay by card or cash – card payments are preferred.
Thank you for taking the time to read this text and we look forward to further cooperation.
